Wednesday are relegated to Division 1 (Tier 2).

After finishing in mid-table the previous season, the season started terribly with Wednesday losing 8 out of the first 9 matches.  Unfortunately they never recovered and were in the bottom two the whole season.  Danny Wilson's sacking was inevitable and Peter Shreeves took over as caretaker manager with 9 matches to go but couldn't prevent Wednesday being relegated by 3 points.

Wednesday were dumped out of the FA Cup by Division 2 (tier 3) Gillingham in the 5th round.
