Wednesday's 1st season in the Football League, joining the 1st Division.

In Wednesday's first season in the Football League they get off to a good start and are 3rd in early January after thrashing Manchester United 5-1 at North Road and West Brom 6-0 at Olive Grove.  Unfortunately Wednesday lose the next seven matches and fail to win ten of the final eleven matches.  Thankfully Wednesday win the last match of the season against Notts County to avoid having to take part in the dreaded test matches.

In the FA Cup, Wednesday play Derby three times in the 1st round, replays being ordered after both teams protest about ineligable players.  They beat Burnley in the 2nd round but are defeated by Everton at Goodison Park in the 3rd round.
