After a decent run of results, Wednesday are 4th by Christmas and they sign Eddie Kilshaw for £20,000 in a bid to boost their promotion ambitions.  Unfortunately they are terribly inconsistent the rest of the season and despite signing Eddie Gannon for £15,000 in March, win just three of the last fifteen matches to finish the season in 8th place, 13 points behind West Bromwich Albion who finish 2nd.
