After losing four of the first five matches, Wednesday recover to have a reasonable season, finishing 5th, nine points behind Champions Sheffield United.  It is the only Football League Championship The Blades have won to date.  Wednesday's home form is excellent with twelve wins out of fifteen but they only win three away matches.

In the FA Cup, Wednesday beat Sunderland in the 1st round but lose to West Brom at Stoney Lane in the 2nd round.
