SEASON DETAIL - 1968-1969

Manager Jack Marshall struggles with his health at the start of the season and although Wednesday are in 7th place by Christmas, results began to slide and Marshall decides enough is enough and resigns thirty one matches into the season with Wednesday in 10th place.  Remarkably caretaker Tom McAnearney fails to win any of his 11 matches in charge and Wednesday finish the season with a run of 12 matches without a win.  Mick Prendergast makes his senior debut and record signing Tommy Craig debuts in the last match of the season.

Wednesday beat Leeds United in the FA Cup 3rd round before losing to 2nd Division Birmingham City.

Wednesday crash out of the EFL Cup in the 2nd round to 4th Division Exeter City.
