Wednesday win the FA Cup for the 2nd time in their history.
Wednesday have a good start to the season and are in 2nd place by early December. However, they only win three of the remaining twenty-three matches and slip to a disappointing 13th place finish.
In Wednesday's run to the FA Cup final they beat 2nd Division Wolves, need a replay against Southern League Southampton and beat 1st Division clubs Sunderland (after a replay), Liverpool in the 4th round and Arsenal in the semi-final at St. Andrew's, Birmingham.
The Cup final at Crystal Palace is played in front of an 84,584 crowd. Wednesday take the lead through Jimmy Stewart but Everton's Jack Sharp equalises on half-time. George Simpson scores Wednesday's winner four minutes from the end.
