Wednesday rack up twelve goals against Lincolnshire team Spilsby in the first round tie played at Bramall Lane before putting six past Sheffield team Lockwood Brothers in the 2nd round at Hunter's Bar.  In the 3rd round, Wednesday draw 2-2 with Nottingham Forest at the Parkside Ground, Nottingham and win 3-2 in the replay at Bramall Lane.  Wednesday are knocked out of the competition in the 4th round by the other Nottingham team, Notts County, at Bramall Lane.
