Wednesday are relegated to the 2nd Division (Tier 2)

In one of Wednesday's worst ever seasons, they go bottom of the League in early November and never recover.  Wednesday win just eight matches, including only one away win, but remarkably manage to do the "double" over West Brom.  A club record run of twenty League matches without a win sees Wednesday relegated with five matches of the season remaining and despite winning three of the last four matches are still eleven points behind Cardiff City who are in 20th position.

In the FA Cup they are very nearly embarrassed by Southern League Hastings Town, before being knocked out of the competition by 2nd Division Notts County after a replay.
