Wednesday get off to a terrible start and are bottom after six matches.  Results improve but a very inconsistent season ends in an 11th place finish, a disappointment after finishing in 5th the previous two seasons.

In the FA Cup Wednesday are drawn against Southern League Northampton Town in the 1st round, the first meeting between the clubs.  Wednesday get a draw at the County Ground, but embarrasingly are beaten 1-0 at Hillsborough.
