SEASON DETAIL - 1925-1926

Wednesday are 2nd Division (Tier 2) Champions for the 2nd time in their history and are promoted to the 1st Division (Tier 1).

Wednesday get the season off to a cracking start as one defeat in the first ten matches sees them in 2nd place.  Three defeats in four matches pegs them back to 4th by the beginning of November, but Wednesday lose just twice in the following fifteen matches winning twelve of them to go top in February.  A blip of one win in six matches sees Wednesday's lead at the top of the table reduced but a strong finish with six wins and a draw from the final seven matches sees Wednesday win the Championship by three points from Derby County, who are also promoted.

In the FA Cup Wednesday are disapointingly beaten in the 3rd round by 3rd Division New Brighton in Wednesday's only visit to Sandheys Park.
