A good season sees Wednesday in the top three most of the season and a 2-0 win against The Blades in early March sees them go 2nd.  However Wednesday only win three of the remaining eleven matches and slip to a disappointing 5th place finish, ten points behind Manchester United who are 1st Division Champions for the first time.

In the FA Cup, Wednesday are embarrasingly beaten by Southern League Norwich City.  It's the first meeting between the clubs and Wednesday's only visit to Newmarket Road.
