Wednesday are Football League Champions for the 1st time in their history.

In a tight race for the title, Wednesday pip Aston Villa to the Championship by just a point, despite losing two of the last three matches.  Wednesday actually win five trophies this season; the Football League Championship, the Midland League Championship, the Sheffield Challenge Cup, the Wharncliffe Charity Cup and the Plymouth Bowl, beating Notts County 2-0 in an exhibition match held at Plymouth.

In the FA Cup, Wednesday lose to Blackburn Rovers in the 1st round after a replay.
