Wednesday enter the FA Cup for the first time.  It is the tenth staging of the FA Cup.

Wednesday are given a "walkover" against Scottish team Queen's Park in the 1st round as they withdraw from the competition and win their first ever FA Cup match, beating Blackburn Rovers 4-0 at Alexandra Meadows in the 2nd round.  They face another Blackburn side, Turton in the 3rd round beating them 2-0 before finally being knocked out of the competition by another Lancashire team, Darwen at Barley Bank in the 4th round.
