In their second season in the FA Cup Wednesday reach the semi-final.  They beat Sheffield Providence at Quibell's Field near Hyde Park in the first round and are given a bye in the 2nd round before taking three matches to dispose of Staveley, finally winning the second replay 5-1 at neutral Hunter's Bar.  They beat Sheffield Heeley in the 4th round and thrash Essex club Upton Park (nothing to do with West Ham) 5-1 in the 5th round, both matches being played at Bramall Lane, before being drawn against Blackburn Rovers in the semi-final.  The initial match is played at Fartown, Huddersfield and is a 0-0 drawn.  The replay is played at Walley Range, Manchester and unfortunately Wednesday are thrashed 5-1 after leading through an own goal.  Blackburn lose in the final to Old Etonians.
