The season is Derek Dooley's first full season as manager and after a poor start with Wednesday bottom of the League they recover to be in 10th place by the New Year.  The signings of Dave Clements and Brian Joicey in late August coincide with Wednesday's upturn in results.  However a poor run-in and an inability to win away matches -Wednesday win just two all season - sees them finish 14th.
