4-0 down from the 1st leg, Wednesday pull off the so-called Miracle of Hillsborough to go through to the final on penalties after the match finishes 5-5 on aggregate.  The match is subsequently voted the greatest play-off match ever in the forty year history of the play-offs in an EFL poll in 2026.
