The attendance of 30,477 is the fifth 30,000+ Football League attendance at Hillsborough this season and the sixth in a row, equalling the six-match run set between the 13th April and 17th August 1991.  However in the 1952-1953 season every home League attendance was over 30,000 and Wednesday averaged over 42,500 per home League match despite the inconsistent season.  The run extended into the adjoining seasons with the run of 30,000+ attendances reaching twenty-eight League matches in all between 12th April 1952 and 5th September 1953.
