With the defeat, Wednesday go twenty matches without a win in the League, equalling their worst ever run, which started in the 1974-75 season and continued into the 1975-76 season.  Wednesday become only the fifth team to go twenty League matches without a win at Championship (tier 2) level, the previous team being Rotherham United in 2004-05.  The longest winless run at tier 2 is thirty-one matches set by Cambridge United in 1983-84.

With Murphy Cooper making his Wednesday debut, Wednesday have now used five goalkeepers this season (not including Liam Palmer who briefly took the gloves when Ethan Horvath was dismissed deep into stoppage time against Charlton Athletic).  The only previous instance of using five goalkeepers in a season was in 1957-58, when Brian Ryalls, Charlie Pllu, Ron Springett, Mike Pinner and Dave McIntosh all played.
