It is a season of consolidation for Wednesday, but with the team 8th in the League in mid February, a play-off push looks possible.  However a run of five successive home defeats dashes that idea and the season peters out with a mid-table finish.  With only six home League wins all season, only one Championship side have a worse home record than Wednesday.  Wednesday's away form however is 5th best in the division with nine away wins.  Wednesday have won 24 points from a losing position this season, which is more than any other Premier League or Football League clubs.

The season ends on a sour note as "cashflow problems" mean players and staff are paid late in March and May.
